Cynthia Lane is an associate attorney in the Insurance Defense practice group at Smith Bigman Brock. Prior to joining our team, she worked for the Department of Children and Families, Children's Legal Services, where she honed her litigation skills advocating for Families of the State of Florida within the juvenile dependency system.
Ms. Lane graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2010. While attending the University of Florida, she earned Academic Scholarships from 2006 through 2010. Additionally, she was actively involved as an After-School Gators, Student Mentor, Human Rights Awareness on Campus, and a member of the Virgil-Hawkins Pre Law Society. Ms. Lane graduated from St. Thomas University School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, in 2014. During law school, Ms. Lane was a member of the Intercultural Human Rights Law Review, earned highest grade awards for Family Law, Constitutional Law, and Administrative Law courses. She received the St. Thomas University School of Law Merit Scholarship in 2011, C. Clyde Atkins Memorial Scholarship in 2013 and 2014 and Scholarships from the Florida Association of Women Lawyers in 2013 and 2014. She was a Student Member of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division, Broward County Bar Association, The Honorable Peter T. Fay American Inn of Court and served as Legal Research Assistant to Professor Marc-Tizoc Gonzalez.
